MWS, if it is easy to do then it would be nice that your suggestion is implemented.
I started my search because I have been to much experimenting under the same filenames (noname2, noname3, etc), and now I have a thing running but my noname3 has changed in the meantime. So I thought that it would be a solution to look into the hex for for a program name and compile time.
But now I realize that writing the program name + version is only a half solution. It is because the programming to flash is not reported back. I somehow have to save the Bascom files and what I programmed into the flash all together and then write protect that. I am afraid that it is hard to automate. It is more a lack of discipline from my side, I think...
So the ultimate method is not yet found/decided. It can be that I misunderstand what is possible. I am open to suggestions.
