I agree the grounds are not what I do, I leave as much copper on the board as I can as a ground plane if it has a break I tend to link it with a thick link. It also makes etching faster here you can see my board for a web server it is single sided and all the wide runs are ground and +12, +5 & +3.3 you can see the wide ground going down to the CPU and ENC28J60.
