Hello,
Looks to me, (hopefully I am wrong) as if this is another case where some of the core libraries, do it support the xmega processor. I assume that it is not a priority of MCS Electronics to fully support the xmega family of processors, which is a shame but understandable due to limited resources. I know Mark is always asking/encouraging for help in library creation tasks, which are time consuming, but do entail a thorough understanding of the mcu and assembly programming. It is a slow process for me as well :-)
May I suggest that the "help/documentation", clearly state what library components support the xmega and which ones do not. Sorry Mark, I do not want to load up your plate more than it is :-)
It would be a shame, if someone was to design a project/product/pcb using a xmega to find out critical/important library components are not supported by the compiler. Who actually writes the code before designing the hardware? Thus the potential trap!! I knowingly decided to use a xmega but new this going into the design, others are not so informed of this fact, thus the xmega trap.
Regards
Rick
