BASCOM-AVR : $Timeout : REPLY

Hi, From the help text:- So the bigger the value, the longer the wait time before the timeout occurs. The timeout is not in seconds or microseconds, it is a relative number. Only the speed of the oscillator has effect on the duration. And the value of the number of course. So the timeout value is not in ms/us rather it's based on the Speed of the chip (I imagine some internal loop counter). So the lower the clock or higher the timeout value the longer the delay before the timeout is reached. Regards Ian Dobson
