Yes it is working fine worked with every AVR I have tried including the M1284 its a USBasp clone and you can upgrade the software on it with bascom if you have another programmer I used my home made serial programmer and updated to the latest from the original developer. It uses USBasp in bascom. I am working with an Arduino 2560 board at present and I do not know why they did not make their inbuilt programmer work properly I have to resort to an external one for the fuse bits etc
Can not fault it for the price
