- which os you use?
- do you run with admin rights or as normal user
- do you have access in the folder where the settings file is stored ? Help, About, click xml data folder so explorer opens. right click on the xml file and check the properties. especial the rights you have.
it seems you do not have write rights which is odd since the folder is a user folder.
recently i had problems with some installed programs on my pc after a win 7 update. it turned out i had to remove the xp compatibility which was required before.
for example the save .. as would freeze programs that worked properly before.
