This is no exclusion, but of course you'd always have the µC draw at least it's power down current, if you want to avoid that, this is the way to go.
So the µC is in lock by the mosfet, that's ok, but beside of the source/drain leakage current of in this case I guess < 1µA, the mosfet will not draw any power.
A mosfet is a potential controlled transistor, not a current controlled one.
If you want to have the µC running, but the other circuits cut from power, it would make sense to use a second mosfet for that purpose.
