Thanks Mark. I originally had created the BMPs with PAINT.NET and didn't recognize that it was automatically saved with 24bit color-depth even though I had only used the "colour" pure black and pure white. I now have reopened the BMP-Files with Irfan-View and then used "Image" --> "Decrease Color Depth" --> "2 Colors (black/white) (1 BPP)" and stored them back. Now the conversion to BGF-files it works perfect. Thanks for the hint. Kind regards Roger
